Shetland Wool Blankets in Sunshine

These two blankets dried on the clothes line yesterday during a sunny, breezy morning.

SH018 (100% Shetland wool) and A212 (Shetland wool and alpaca)
I always enjoy hanging freshly washed weaving - whether it's blankets, towels or anything else - out on the line to dry in the sunshine and breeze. The wrinkles and untrimmed fringes are visible, but they are all fixed up later. These blankets are ready to go now and they look great.

Two blankets have about 50% alpaca and are even more lightweight and soft:

These Shetland wool blankets were really fun to weave, and I'll be making more through the summer.

Another Batch of Shetland Wool Blankets

My third project of Shetland wool blankets is finishing up as I hand-twist the fringes, wash, press and label each one. Two of the blankets are approximately 50% machine-spun alpaca, which is a lovely combination with the fine Shetland wool. (The alpaca includes minor amounts of nylon or bamboo for strength, but it is a very small component.)

Here are some of the blankets that are finished and ready to go:

SH010 |100% Shetland wool | $230

SH012 | 100% Shetland wool | $230

SH014 | 100% Shetland wool | $230
A209 | Approximately 50% Shetland wool and 50% alpaca | $300
